Her descriptions of the nature she saw was lovely. As she hiked and shared what she was seeing, the reader could visualize the scene as if you were there. Great pictures!

A good read, as I'm planning on hiking the trail in 2020. One thing I would have liked, would have been a gear list
This is the first book I have read relating to the JMT. Very well written account about their hike! I also enjoyed the pictures!
Gabriela's writing really brought back great memories of my own recent JMT hikes back to life and enhanced these with her own special observations as we all have different feelings for different parts of the trail depending on the circumstances we meet and encounter along the way of our specific journeys. This well written book would also be a good introduction to anyone considering taking on the JMT for the first time thanks to its honest and intelligent comments. I hope it encourages more people to get out into an amazing wilderness and explore it on their terms and I'm already looking forward to Gabriela's writings on her forthcoming PCT hike.
Interesting and very well written. Good balance of scenery description and personal experiences on the trail. Hope to see more book titles from Gabriela on her future outdoor adventrues.
